The British Alumni Singapore is a society of UK graduates residing in Singapore. The society was initiated in June 1986 with the support of Mr Desmond Lauder, former British Education Counsellor at the British Council and a group of young, returned Singaporean graduates. Officially registered in November 1986, the British Alumni (S) inaugural General Meeting was held on 6 March 1987 at Eden Hall, residence of the British High Commissioner in Singapore.

As a representative body of graduates from some 80 British universities and 24 British University Alumni, our wide range of cultural, social and educational activities has brought past and recent British graduates closer together.

Our main objectives are:

  • To promote and enhance the interest and welfare of members of the Alumni.
  • To promote and encourage mutually beneficial "networking" among our members.
  • To provide guidance to students who intend to proceed to the UK for undergraduate or postgraduate studies.
  • To give information, advice and assistance to new members of the Alumni on their return to Singapore.
