What binds the members of the British Alumni (Singapore) together is their shared academic background. The promotion of education ranks as one of the most prominent activity in the association. The BA runs many programs in support of education:

Students Assistance Scheme
Donations and Grants

Student Assistance Scheme

The Students Assistance Scheme is a one-time grant for Singaporean undergraduates in their final year of residential study in tertiary education in the UK who are experiencing serious financial hardship. A student grant can only be considered by the Alumni if an undergraduate student is in his/her final year of studies and can satisfy the Alumni panel that genuine financial hardship exists. The Alumni panel reserves the right to decide which candidate will be given assistance and no correspondence can be entered into with unsuccessful candidates. In 1995, funds were generously donated by Barclays Bank PLC Singapore to enable the award of an immediate grant to a student.

To apply download the Application Form (in MS Word 6.0 format), complete all particulars and mail or fax your form to The Chairman, Student Assistance Scheme, British Alumni (S) , c/o 30 Napier Road, Singapore 258509 and fax to (65) 735 1911.
